Cometh reimagined through a collection of movie-inspired logo animations, extending the series' sci-fi references into its end titles.

THE PROJECT

Not quite fit for space

Produced by Kabuki Media for Cometh in 2022, Fit for Space turns game tutorials into a sci-fi comedy. Its host, Captain Fit, is an overconfident space instructor whose advice is regularly interrupted by his ego, his crew and an improbable number of movie references.

My contribution covered the digital spaceship environment, green-screen compositing, visual effects and motion design for the teaser and five episodes. The set was developed around the live-action shoot: room for characters to enter and leave the frame, a large window onto space, and a camera position adjusted with the production team.

The finish embraces the excess of 1980s genre films: VHS interference, exaggerated zooms, explosions, graphic interruptions and glowing chrome titles. I also designed and animated the Fit for Space identity and the movie-inspired Cometh logos that carry the joke into the end cards.

The environment was built in 4K to leave room for reframing. Square postproduction exports and separate title elements gave the editing team material to adapt the films for horizontal and vertical releases.
